Update on Etsy Debacle

Hey guys. I am really really upset right now. The Etsy order that I had placed for our window treatment was just cancelled. No note from the seller- just cancelled. After waiting over 6 months for our custom window treatment I have nothing to show for it. I doubt I will even get my money back. She told Etsy she would send my fabric back to me, but I have to wonder what condition it is in. Also, I doubt I will ever get my money back because she is  BIG FAT LIAR. The worst part is her shop is still open and she has a 92% positive feedbacl rating. I don't even get to rate her! Since people like me don't get to rate I wonder how many other people she has done this to that I never knew about. I emailed Etsy, but I doubt anything will be done. I feel so taken advantage of. Not a happy Friday...

On the plus side of things, hopefully something will be done to her legally speaking...or that's what I gather after reading this on her feedback page:

Again, putting guilt on ME for actually following up on a shade that I paid her $$ for. Anyway, the attorney general is now involved for credit card fraud and internet scamming for non-delivery of merchandise. My credit card company is now involved and it has been a complete waste of my time over a ridiculous 22" wide roman shade. Fortunately, with the "conversation feature" on Etsy I have a complete record of the transaction. I love Etsy and have used it for many things including clothing for my young kids, birthday party decorations, frames, etc. It is unfortunate that someone like this is able to hold business on such a fantastic site"

Wow! I never even thought to look on her facebook page. This sounds like exactly what happened to me. She kept making me feel bad even though I was being ripped off. I guess I will be interested to see if I ever actually get my money back.

Oh WOW!!!!! That is just awful!!! I feel terrible for the both of you! Hopefully something can be done. I had a non-Etsy situation similar to this--I had ordered something and received a bad quality item. I was given return instructions and never received my refund even though I shipped the item back. I don't even know how many times I asked about it and just received a "What was your order number" response with nothing after that. i contacted the BBB in Canada and they told me that approx. 40 other complaints just like mine were registered and the seller doesn't respond. They told me to take it up with one of the ministries. It wasn't much money, but as ever, it's the principle of the thing that gets me. I don't know how some people sleep at night. For reals.
Hopefully this doesn't take the fun out of your weekend. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Is the money not processed through Etsy? Like through Paypal? I think I bought something on there once and it was so if she cancelled the order officially on Etsy (and didn't just send an e-mail or something) then Etsy should refund you the money automatically. If not, you need to get in touch with them.

And seriously don't let her push you over. You're not the kind of person who would let that happen. I'm surprised you let these shenanigans go on this long. Pretty much all of these QAs relate to you.

I am so sorry this happened to you! Please don't let sellers like this ruin Etsy for you. There are so many great people with amazing products on that site!

That is sooo hard. I'm an avid e-bay seller, but I need to check etsy out. It's crazy how some sellers just suck!

wow..I checked out her etsy and there are so many negative comments! ...even in some that checked positive for feedback rating. Multiply people said she used the excuse of a sick child and gave them a guilt trip for checking back on their order when something she said didn't add up. She constantly said items had been shipped when they really hadn't and always said Fed Ex was the liar. Totally shady chick! I hope you are able to get everything worked out!
